Woke up and went to breakfast at the hotel. Then a bunch of
us decided to venture to the extreme petting zoo that is outside of the city.
We first took a bus to plaza italia, which was a mistake because there was so
much traffic and we should have just taken the subte. Then we ran to catch
another bus, but realized that it was the wrong one. Then another bus came and
motioned for us to go 2 blocks to his stop, but when we finally ran and caught
up with the bus it was the wrong one. After lots of failed running attempts, we
finally found the right place, waited in a huge line for the bus, and then
tried to get on but it was 15 pesos to get on and we had to use our subte cards
and couldn’t pay in cash. So then we had to go refill our subte cards and wait
for the next bus. When that one came a half hour later, he said it would take 2
hours to get to the zoo. At this point, we would have a 2 hour ride there, 1
hour at the zoo, and then 2 hours to come home. Not worth it. So after our
extreme fail, we decided to walk around the city. Lucy and I got pizza and
walked all the way home, shopping and chatting on the way. It was a beautiful
day, and we made the best of it.
At around 6, we got some ice cream to tie us over til
dinner. At 7 we met with 2 of our faculty members who leave a day early, so
this was our chance to say goodbye. We went to a bar, said goodbye, and headed
out around 9 30 for dinner. 3 of us went to this amazing Italian place for
dinner and wine. We stayed til the restaurant closed at like 11 30, came back
to the hotel, and continued to drink wine and hang out with everyone.
