Today was our first day of full classes. We took the subway
to school, and had a guest lecturer about the history of Buenos Aires. His last
name was Aizenberg, spelled like that. Argentinian Jew! Such a great lecturer,
really funny. After that we had a short break and then we had another guest
lecture about the political history of Argentina. Then we had a break for
lunch. I went to a small café around the corner from school and had an omlette
type thing that was really good. After that we went back to the classroom for a
brief talk about neighborhood day tomorrow, and then we had learning community.
We walked to a nearby park and played games.
After that, we tried to go shopping and followed a group but
then lost them because they were walking so fast. So a few of us decided to
take the subway to the botanical gardens. We walked through the rose garden and
the multiple parks all afternoon. Like 3 hours of walking. It was so beautiful.
We ended up walking home from there, through the parks the whole way. Such an
amazing way to spend an afternoon.
When we got home we only had about an hour before leaving
again. Our mom had told us about a protest that was going on that she was going
to, and we had received numerous emails about it. She left us dinner, so we ate
it and then headed to the protest, and met some people on the way. There were
so many different types of people there, and it was very tame. But so
interesting and lots of fun. The group of us that went to the protest went out
after to a bar, which was very relaxed and a great way to end the night.
