Today we had a debrief about the site visit yesterday,
followed by a politics and development lecture. Then we had an excursion to see
the mayor of Dakar. Casual. We took Car Rapids there. The mayor wasn’t there,
but his deputy was. They presented a lot of information to us about their plans
to make Dakar a “world city.” We got back around 3 and had like ten minutes to
scarf down food. Aka a sandwich. On bread. So much bread.
Then we had to split up and write a letter back to the
mayor. He wanted us to tell him how our experience there was. At this point in
the day we were all so tired and just wanted to go home. When the day finally
ended, we walked home. I did a lot of random work that I needed to do at home,
ate dinner with mama, and then went to Lucys.
